During the ceremony, where do you put your engagement ring? I know some people put it on the right hand same finger, but what if you’re already wearing one on that finger?

Leave it on the left? Take it off and put it on later? What do people do? What would you do?

Gone are the days of scrolls, boring white envelopes and simple cardboard inviting a guest to attend a wedding celebration. How extravagant a wedding celebration can be easily determined on the level of sophistication that the invitation given out to invited guests. Nowadays, modern wedding invitations like pocket invitations have been frequently used in special events like weddings. Pocket invitations are more sophisticated and modern than their traditional counterpart.

So what exactly are pocket invitations? Pocket invitations are more comprehensive wedding invitations which is one complete package, where you unwrap the initial invitation for more details on the inside. These invitations are simply gorgeous, and they are certainly more suitable than the traditional stationery, as all of the details you wish to give can either be printed directly on the invitation or placed neatly in the pockets. This helps create a wonderfully crisp presentation.

Of course in order to use these invitations, you will need all the wedding lingo. The details of the invitation must be free of misspelled names or words, the wedding ceremony information must be accurate, and are clearly printed using readable fonts. Pocket invitations are quite a bit more expensive than typical stationery, but they beauty and functionabilty makes it worth it.

Need ideas to make the invitations even more beautiful? How about using monograms? Monograms add a touch of elegance and modernness at the same time, embracing the formality of traditional weddings and welcoming the modern phase of our time. Pocket invitations with bold, rich colored envelopes like black, dark brown, red or bronze are simply elegant and attention magnet, giving the event itself such importance. These types of invitations are must see when you are on the invitation planning stage.

If you are on budget, you consider making your own pocket wedding invitation and you’ll learn it isn’t that difficult and can actually be done using printer, plain scissors, some parchment boards and special pocket envelopes. Get inspiration from many online invitation samples, visit some invitation printing shops, and consider adding some personal touch to the design like your images on the cover of the invitation. Adding vellum sheets inside the pocket adds elegance too. Designing your own pocket invitation will not only save you lots of bucks, but it will greatly help on exactly doing what design you have in mind. Just make sure that you have plenty of time to spare making your own pocket wedding invitation.

Regardless of the invitation design or motif that you will choose, make sure that your invitation layout and overall design complements your wedding theme. For example a very formal and traditional wedding should have highly elegant invitations, while a non-traditional beach wedding should have a very vivid and lively summer look or pastel hued wedding invitations.

Getting married is a very exciting time but there are many details to be taken care of beforehand. One of these responsibilities is sending out Bridal Shower Invitations. These might not seem like a big task but it’s important to keep the invitations fun while conveying the tone of the shower and including important information. Many people choose to use the theme and colors when doing anything that is wedding related.

There are many wording ideas. For a surprise, “Don’t tell but we’re having a surprise party for Mary Smith…” Another fun way might be for a recipe party. Here is where you would enclose two index cards and have the guest write a recipe on one and a recipe for love on the other. To add to the theme, you can request that gifts come in the form of kitchen items. For a lingerie shower, you may want to say something whimsical such as, “Robert and Lynne fell in love as we all saw, now let’s throw her a party with gifts of bras!”

Besides wording, you want the party cards to comply with the theme of the event. If you’re hosting a recipe party, then the announcements might be displayed with a border of different kitchen gadgets and utensils. Lingerie party cards can be in the shape of a bustier or a set of bra and panties. Bachelorette invitations can also be very fun and playful, as that generally keeps within the theme of the events. If the Bachelorette party is being held in a bar for example, the invitation may come in the shape of a martini glass.

Wedding shower invitations and wedding announcements can also come in a wide variety of themes but will generally be a bit more formal and will most definitely stay within the theme. For example, wordings might say, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith are honored to announce the marriage of their daughter…” These cards don’t always need to be extremely formal. For an elopement announcement where the ceremony may not have taken place in a conventional setting, the wording may be something such as, “Ms. Karen Smith and Mr. John Brown honored their love by eloping while on vacation on a Bahamian cruise.”

“Engagement rings.” Engagement rings offer up a real learning experience for the groom. Getting the best engagement ring for your bride can be one of the most stressful experiences for any man. Engagement rings play such a huge role in altering a relationship, and it is the sentiment behind the ring that often really matters, but still most grooms want to get the perfect ring they know their wife will like.

In many cases, if a man is wise, he will have listened to his future wife’s suggestions and hints. Women don’t like to admit it, but in a relationship, they undoubtedly, at some point, have found themselves in a wedding ring store looking at different styles. For the man, making a mental note here is key.

Then seeking out a quality engagement ring within the man’s budget becomes the ultimate quest. Engagement rings with diamonds become a quick education for the groom. There is a rating system for diamonds, and in most cases, if quality is a consideration, and it usually is, it is wise to not go below a certain rating point, or the diamond will look cloudy.

In other cases, matching the diamond cut styling to the wedding band is also an issue. It is recommended to start doing some research on line about engagement rings to learn of the different styles of cuts and different styles of engagement bands.

It is especially important to consider the diamond’s cut when looking at engagement rings. An engagement ring’s diamond should have been cut with purpose because a cut is also the way the diamond lets light into it. Some diamonds, simply by the way in which they were taken when they were mined, must be cut a certain way to let the most light through it. This will allow for the best sparkle and shine.

After purchasing an engagement ring, then the search for the perfect wedding ring or band is the next move. Some couples choose and interlocking or matching set. Or some have either of the two styles custom made. Either way, it is the engagement ring that is the ultimate symbol of love and commitment, and the first big initiation of a relationship moving to a higher level.

While online research is a good way to start learning about buying engagement rings, it is also good advice to visit several jewelry stores. In most cases, the salesman or sales woman can offer up their knowledge of how to look at diamonds and know if it is a good cut or rating on it. Most diamonds for engagement rings should come with certificates that verify by a third party their rating. If a diamond does not, steer clear of it.

When it comes to shopping for an engagement ring for that special someone, it is important to not feel pressured into a sale. Buy the one that feels right for you and your soon-to-be spouse, not the one that the salesperson may be pushing on you. If you feel pressured by the situation, you should probably leave.

Planning weddings well in advance will help to make any wedding trouble free. If you are planning a wedding you should keep in mind the following important aspects of any wedding:

1. Think about getting other people involved into the planning. If it’s your own wedding, think of getting your family members and friends involved. If you are planning a wedding for someone else, still try to seek out some ideas from other people.

2. Choose a theme for the wedding, which should include the overall style and the small details to give uniqueness to this wedding.

3. Try the food that you are going to have at the wedding reception. The food might not be as good as it’s advertised, so it’s a good idea to try it in advance.

4. Try to come up with some special ideas to make this wedding stand out from the rest. For example, instead of regular favors you may have something special. For instance, you can get blank CDs, burn a dozen songs that mean a lot to the bride and groom, put the names of the bride and the groom and the date on them, and place them on a table for the guests to get their copy.

5. When planning weddings, it’s a good idea to have a simple backup plan for anything that might go wrong, including the transportation, the food, the location, and so on.

6. Carefully plan the budget of the wedding and stick to it. It’s actually not that hard to plan the budget of a wedding if you use a percentage breakdown approach.

For example, the reception party is usually the most expensive part of any wedding, so you should allocate about 50% of the available finances for it. Next are photo/video and the bride’s and groom’s attire, with 10% of the total amount each. Next are flowers and music, 8% each. Next are the stationary, rings and ceremony, which are 3% of the total available amount each. Additional small expenditures may be transportation and anything else that you might decide to have at the wedding.

7. No matter whose wedding is being planed; the bride and groom should not be overwhelmed with the planning. A wedding is a very important event, but it’s just an overture to the main thing – a happily married life for the newlyweds.

Planning weddings is a substantial responsibility, but a good step by step plan will help you make this event remarkable and memorable for everyone, including the bride and the groom, their family and friends, and the guests.

When setting up a budget for a wedding, many couples forget to include a line item for tips and gratuities. Sure, you could bypass this area completely, but that really wouldn’t be very nice, now would it? It would also go against accepted wedding etiquette.

Maybe you think a quick $100 will cover tips to everyone? Well, it may have 50 years ago, but in current times, it’s not uncommon for this area to run into the hundreds of dollars. This is why it’s important to include them in the budget. Tips & Gratuities are known for being budget busters of many a wedding.

You will want to be sure to check contracts out because some have a gratuity included. In these cases, there is no need to tip those associated with these particular contracts, unless of course you feel that one of the staff goes way above and beyond. If that’s the case, you may want to slip that person an extra tips.

Now, as far as wedding etiquette goes, the following people should be (and expect to be) tipped:

Altar boys / girls – $10 to $15 a piece

Bartenders – 10% of the total bill (unless a cash bar)

Chauffeurs – 10 to 15% of the total bill

Coat Check / Restroom Attendants – 50 cents to $1 per guest

DJ – $50 to $100

Hair Stylist / Makeup Artist – 10 to 15% of the total bill

Valet Parking Attendants – 50 cents to $1.00 per car (on top of what guests give them)

Waitstaff – 15% of the catering bill

There are also some optional folks you may want to tip as well. You’ll need to know about how these type of folks operate and make the call from there. For example, if you are doing business with the business owner directly for a particular service – say a florist – they may be doing the work themselves and have been compensated fairly in the contract you have with them. In this case, a nice thank you note may suffice and would be most appreciated. However, if you are dealing with an employee of the florist, a tip would likely be appropriate.

Here are the folks that tipping is optional with:

Baker / Cake Designer – $10 or $20

Catering / Reception Manager – $50 to $100

Musicians – $5 to $10 per hour, per musician

Florist – $10 to $20 per staff member

Officiant: $75 to $200 – This can also be paid as a donation to the church

Photographer / Videographer – $50 to $100

On site Wedding Coordinator – $50

Wedding Planner – 10% of their total bill

Tips should be paid in cash and should be placed in envelopes. Plan on them being paid just as the vendor and staff are leaving. By doing this in this fashion, you’ll be able to judge how much of a tip they have actually earned. Don’t be afraid to make adjustments on the fly if necessary. The best man – or trusted person – will generally be in charge of taking care of this for you.

You may not have considered tips and gratuities to be an item worthy of being in your wedding budget. Hopefully, this article has shown you otherwise. You may want to set up a second account for expenses that may be overlooked so that you aren’t shocked by them. Consider funding this account to the tune of 10 to 15% of your total wedding budget. This is something that could save you from pulling your hair out trying to redo your budget so that it comes in where you need it to.

Be sure to keep these extra funds separate from your main wedding account. Don’t use these funds unless you run into unexpected expenses. This extra fund could go a long way to ensuring your wedding comes in at or under budget.

Okay, so my friend is getting married. He hates the idea of the question but a a few shots of vodka, spare rufies and a horny wife go a long way. It’s like an inaguration, showing appreciation for the bride in all ways before passing her along to the lucky guy.

Wedding rings are more than just a piece of jewelry. They are the ultimate symbol of marriage. Rings are purchased for both the bride and the groom, even if the groom insists he doesn’t need to wear one to show his commitment!

Wedding rings are exchanged as part of the ceremony, normally as vows are said by both parties. They are often matched to the engagement ring, so you might want to choose simply for the engagement ring or choose a complete set. If you want to rehearse for the big day, wedding rings are always placed on the finger first, and the engagement ring is placed on top of it. If you have yet to purchase your ring set, keep the following guidelines in mind:

Going For The Gold

Gold is still the standard for wedding rings, and is instantly recognizable as a wedding band. However, white gold is an excellent alternative. White gold gets its color by blending with another white metal like silver or palladium. This blend is called an alloy. An advantage of white gold is that is typically retains the better qualities of yellow gold, like low risks of skin irritation, and is often mistaken for the more expensive platinum.

Platinum Pass

Platinum is the metal of choice for rings because it is more rare and durable than gold. Platinum is an elegant metal, which is very popular these days because of its white, shiny look and durability. Platinum is actually more precious than gold and can cost up to twice as much.

If you prefer a white metal and are willing to be non-traditional, there is one more alternative.

What About Titanium?

Titanium wedding bands are an ideal choice for the adventurous, outdoorsy couple because a titanium ring requires very little care and is almost impossible to damage. Titanium wedding bands are unique in that it is one of the strongest metals. Yet, they are very light in weight. Titanium is a non-allergenic material, with none of the skin rashes that can occur with some white metals like nickel or nickel alloys.

And Finally, Diamonds Are Forever

Diamond wedding rings are the most often bought type of wedding rings, and go well with gold, white gold, silver, and platinum bands. Diamond engagement rings can be dressed up with other stones like sapphires, rubies and emeralds, but the diamonds are still the most important. Diamonds were also considered to be gifts of the gods and as such must be cherished. Diamond engagement rings thus symbolize love and eternity, which explains their popularity with men and women alike.

Conclusion

Wedding rings, along with engagement rings, will likely be the most important jewelry decision you make. If you decide upon an alloy like white gold make sure it does not contain a metal that will irritate your skin. And whether you choose traditional yellow gold or prefer the white precious metal alternatives, know that it is a decision you can live with in peace, hopefully for a lifetime.
