When did it become a trend to have formal engagement pics? I am in my forties, and as far back as I can remember people only had formal pics for the wedding. Does this seem like an extra expense, and that couples are having more and more activities, like multiple parties, etc, and two or three dresses? Is the wedding industry going too far?
The most traditioal proposal before getting married is by taking a knee and open a box that has a ring in side. I want to know if you have done a proposal out of the ordinary like popping out of a trash can, sky diving, make it so him or her reads a card that makes them propose, proposed at Cinderalls castle, make them dig up the box with the ring in the box in the sand, and many more places to do a proposal. So I was just wondering if any of you have done something not traditional.
Can you be engaged at a really young age and wait until your the legal age to be married
E.G propose at 15 but not actually get married until 19 or 20

The bride and groom are not on good terms with the groom’s parents. If the groom’s parents are invited to the wedding, the stress level will be off the charts for quite a few people. The grooms parents will be the "dark cloud" over everything. What should the bride and groom do?! Invite them to JUST the ceremony? Invite them to both the ceremony and the reception (out of…"kindness")? Or do not invite them at all?
If you are wtih someone for years and have talked about getting married, is getting engaged such a big step? If you have said you are going to get married and spend the rest of your life together are you not already making that commitment just without a ring?
