How to keep engagement ring/wedding band together without soldering?

My fiance and I are getting married in Mexico. She doesn’t want the rings soldered before the wedding, as she wants to wear her engagement ring until the day of and then add the wedding band during the ceremony. Is there a way (some kind of clasp or something) to keep the rings together while we are on our honeymoon, before we get them soldered together?

I would think twice about soldering the rings together. That will create a permanent change to the ring which you will not be able to undo. Your jeweler may have something to hold the two rings together. Or just take one of the rings on the honeymoon together. Make sure that both rings are insured in case either one of them is misplaced, lost, damaged or stolen.

    Good luck!

A snug fit would help. If the rings don’t fit snugly as is, there are these cheap bands you can buy at wal-mart and the like that go under the ring to make it fit more snugly and this will keep them in place so they can’t move around and come apart.

Is she sure she wants to wear such expensive (and cherished!) jewelry on vacation in Mexico? Doesn’t sound like a great idea.

She could always just wear the wedding band on her right hand until the best man arrives at the wedding to take responsibility for the rings.

A good jeweler can probably make a clasp to do the job.

Congratulations & you may want to consider leaving expensive items & passports in the hotel safe (not your room safe) so that they will be there when you want them.

why would you solder them together? make sure they are the right size and made out of the same metal. If they fit well enough they wont need to be soldered together. You can get rings re sized cheaply. :)

    Dear friend,

As per your question, there is no temporary clasp to hold the ring & band.

Fine Diamond Engagement Rings with their Matching Wedding Bands are always sold after they have been resized exactly to the right finger size.

If the ring & band are resized correctly and precisely, both should stay together on the finger and there will be no need for soldering.

This way you can always remove or add any of them easily.

    My suggestion:
If the ring and band have not been resized yet according to the finger size, the best solution is to do so prior your jurney.

    Have a great honeymoon (-:
