As in, would a sister of the bride be related to a brother of the groom? How about cousins of the groom? Would they then become cousins of the brides family? It would be related through marriage I guess, but does that really count as being related therefore no family member of the bride could ever marry a family member of the groom? Would it kind of be like incest? haha

This is the brides 2nd marriage. The 1st time around (about 7 years ago) she had the big white wedding and a big shower hosted by her mother. Now they are doing it all over again and it seems a little much.

It’s the groom’s 1st marriage so I could understand his mother hosting a shower for his side of the family but it seems tacky for the bride’s side to invite the same people again to a "Monetary Shower".

Is this appropriate?

My sister is getting married next month & my mom is having a hard time finding a dress she likes at a price she likes. I currently have a retail clothing store & am now thinking of starting an online store that specializes in mother of the bride dresses.

Should I focus on brand, style or price?

I heard that in many countries brides are given wedding rings, but not engagement rings. Where did the practice of giving engagement rings originate, and what was the significance?

My friend received a hard copy photograph from the brides family. My friends family said Ok to bride. But due to some problems after the formal meet, the bride family didnt turn up to say their decision back. Neither they took the photo back.
The question is what to do with the photograph? is it wise to destroy, or go and return it back?
Do indian arranged marriages end up leaving photographs after failed proposals?
