Why does it seem that women are afraid to say no when asked to be engaged? I’ve known a few who seemed to hate their boyfriend only to later say yes.

Also, doesn’t it seem that when men are about to be dumped they lug out the marriage proposal weapon?

This guy is engaged to his girlfriend and their marriage is fixed. But I have noticed him looking and staring at other girls. Is this normal?

My boyfriend and I are talking of marriage. We both graduate with our undergraduate degree by next december. We aren’t getting engaged till after we both graduate. I kinda would like to keep the excitement of moving in together until we are married….but it seems kinda silly to wast money on two rents and things like that, when you know your going to get married anyway. What do y’all think?

HI All,
I am new to Florida and live in Boca, could you help me and tell whats the most romantic place for a marriage proposal. I am willing to drive.

Iam going to meet a gal with whom i am planning to marry ?
What all points we need to discuss or concentrate ?

Apr 18

My boyfriend of 14 years decided to finally propose in 2005 but till now has mentioned nothing in terms of marriage. We have three beautiful kids together. He has cheated several times, could this be the cause of us not getting married as he could still be searching for someone else to wed out there.
Am confused & don’t know what to think, was this a way of putting me in one place while he can still move on with his life.

Would love to hear your answers.

The circular shape of your vintage wedding ring is a symbol of eternity and the lasting commitment that two people make to be with each other. Many customs actually view the giving of the wedding ring as the last in a number of gifts given to each partner. Some people have replaced this older custom with a more modern version where an ‘eternity’ ring is given to symbolize an everlasting marriage.

It is now becoming more popular to have wedding rings engraved so if you and your partner are buying matching vintage wedding rings, why not have them both engraved with a message personal to you both just to give them that unique feel. If you think the ring is too plain for you, then you could consider a beaded edge or an engraved style. Choosing your wedding ring is a personal thing so as long as you both agree, whatever you choose will be right.

You must never forget how important your vintage wedding ring and do not treat it like another piece of jewelry as it will not often leave your finger. Irrespective of the design of vintage wedding rings you finally decide on, do not accept anything but the highest quality. For something as important as your marriage, the vintage wedding rings you purchase should not be the ones you found at the lowest price because it makes a mockery of your vows and the meaning of the wedding rings.

Your expensive Vintage Wedding Rings should also fit perfectly so do not accept anything less as when you come to place them on each others fingers on the wedding day you may find they no longer look as good. To make sure your vintage wedding rings fit perfectly you will need the services of a professional jeweler to measure you and your partner’s fingers, which is something you can’t do over the internet. The last thing you want to happen is that the wedding rings are too tight and won’t go on, or so loose they won’t stay on the finger. Therefore it is important that you allow the jeweler enough time to complete your wedding ring order by your wedding day. Be sure that you go looking for your vintage wedding rings a few months before your wedding so the rings will be ready for your big day.

Don’t forget there is now more choice of styles for your vintage wedding rings that it may take you a while to choose. Both you and your partner should follow your instincts on your choice of vintage wedding rings while remembering that what looks good today might not be quite as fashionable in a few years time. The most important thing to remember is that your vintage wedding rings are symbolic of your everlasting love. This type of life changing statement means you should buy wedding rings that reflect this and that you will feel proud to wear.

Are you planning or considering a destination wedding? Need some help getting started with the planning of your destination wedding? Have you decided on a destination yet or on your ceremony and reception locations? Do you even know if you’re a good candidate for a destination wedding?

I know it can seem like a lot at first and it can be totally overwhelming but let’s see if we can get you pointed in the right direction.

The first thing you’ll want to decide is should you have a destination wedding or should you have a wedding close to home? Here are some things to consider while deciding:

  • Who is paying for your wedding?
  • What is your wedding budget?
  • Is this a first marriage for you and/or your fiance?
  • Do you and/or your fiance have children who will be traveling with you?
  • Where are most of your friends and family located?
  • How many of your guests do you think will be able to join you?
  • Do you have many relatives who are elderly and might not be able to travel?
  • Are there any others who you definitely want to have at your wedding who won’t be able to attend a destination wedding?
  • How picky are you about the finite details of your wedding?

Once you’ve determined that a destination wedding is going to work well for you and the important people in your life you’ll be ready to move forward with your destination wedding planning. A destination wedding is a wonderful and unique event. With that comes a special set of questions that would not arise with a hometown marriage. These are the answers to your questions about the etiquette for destination weddings.

The first question to arise is usually who to invite. Certainly you will want to ask your immediate family and closest friends. Many couples choose to have a destination wedding in part because it does allow for a smaller guest list limited to only those that mean the most to you. However, some brides and grooms would like to invite a more extended group of friends, and the question becomes whether or not you should invite someone to a destination wedding that you believe will not be able to attend.

The answer is yes. If you hope that the guest in question will join you in Hawaii or Italy or wherever your destination wedding is being held, by all means extend the invitation. As the host, it is not up to you to answer the invitation (or to withhold an invitation based on an anticipated response), only to offer it sincerely. Besides, you may be surprised at who decides that a trip to a fabulous spot is well worth the time and expense. When you are inviting a large number of guests who are unlikely to be able to make it to your wedding, you may also want to think about holding a reception for them back in your hometown. It is nice to mention the second reception on the original invitation, so that those who are not able to attend your destination wedding will not feel badly, knowing that they will have another chance to celebrate with you.

A related etiquette question is whether or not the bride and groom are required to cover the airfare and hotel accommodations for their wedding party. As with any other type of wedding, the answer is no. The usual way to thank your bridesmaids for being in your wedding is with gifts, such as bridesmaid jewelry. For a destination wedding, it would be fun to select bridesmaid jewelry gifts with a theme that relates to the locale, such as a beach motif.

However, you should take the cost of participating in a destination wedding into account. Definitely mention the location of your wedding when asking someone to be in your bridal party. This gives them a chance to graciously decline if they know that they will be unable to afford the travel. Although it is not strictly required, many brides and grooms will choose to help out one or more of their attendants with travel costs, if it means the difference between a dear friend attending the wedding or staying home. You can also be considerate by keeping costs as low as possible for your wedding party. Booking blocks of hotel rooms or pairing up bridesmaids in a room can help to keep their expenses more reasonable.

One final and very important piece of etiquette for a destination wedding is to take your guests into consideration when booking the site. For instance, if all of your siblings have young children that they would plan to bring to your wedding, it would be very rude to choose an adults-only resort. Likewise, if you know that most of your guests will be stretching their budget just to cover the airfare for your nuptials, don’t block rooms only at the most expensive hotel in the area. Be sure to reserve rooms in a few price ranges so that everyone has an affordable place to stay.

With these tips in mind, you will find it easier to plan a destination wedding that will not result in any hard feelings. Be keeping your guests’ needs in the forefront of your planning, you will be able to plan a wedding that is as much fun for them as it is for you. Then all that is left to do is relax, have fun, and get married in a fabulous destination.

I have been living with my boyfriend about a year and a half. We have been together for a few months more than that. We are very close and open with one another. We are young… (22 and 26) but we are both mature and have decent jobs. We talk about marriage often and we both want to marry each other. My brother recently made some off the cuff comments to him about how long he is taking. Should I be expecting him to step up soon?
