They say that the best made plans may go awry, and that is certainly true of weddings. You plan and you plan, but sometimes things pop up at the last minute that have to be dealt with. These are some of the things to think about…

One of the main reasons that couples need contingency plans for their wedding is inclement weather. If you are having an outdoor ceremony, you definitely need to have a rain plan. Either rent a tent (and a floor if it is a really soggy day), or have an alternate indoor location. If your wedding does end up being moved at the last minute, be certain to get word to all of the guests!

Transportation is another thing that can be affected by a surprise rainstorm. After all, a horse-drawn carriage ride is very romantic, but not in the pouring rain. If you were planning to walk to your wedding, or take open transportation, be sure to have a Plan B, just in case.

The wedding bands are a very important part of the ceremony, so be sure that you give them ample thought in advance. If you will have a ring bearer, you might want to reconsider putting the actual wedding jewelry on his little pillow. Many couples tie a pair of symbolic rings to the pillow, and give the real ones to the best man (who is hopefully more responsible than a young child! If not, give the rings to someone else to hold.).

Sometimes things happen with the wedding bands that no one expects, and you just have to roll with the punches. At one wedding I attended, the groom’s hand had swollen from a recent windsurfing expedition, and the bride could not get the ring onto his finger. They were pushing and pulling, and the whole group of guests was laughing. The ceremony was in a hotel, and just as a waiter approached with a pat of butter on a silver tray, the groom finally managed to jam the ring on to his finger. What worked? Dipping his ring finger into a glass of Champagne!

Other mishaps can happen with wedding jewelry that are more easily planned for. In your wedding day kit, bring along a stash of extra earring backs (or a pencil eraser can be used in a pinch), safety pins for clasp issues, and even some heavy thread in case one of your bridesmaids snaps her strand of pearls and needs a quick fix.

What are some other wedding contingency plans that couples should have in place? A big one is a plan in case uninvited guests show up at the reception. If you are diligent about following up the R.s.v.p.s, hopefully you will not encounter this problem, but it does happen more often than you may think. If there are a few guests that you have not heard from that you think might make a surprise appearance, have a plan in place with your caterer.

For a buffet style wedding, the only issue is finding a seat, but for plated dinners, every meal must be accounted for. You do have the option of ordering a couple of extra dinners, just in case. If you do not want to go to that expense, let the wedding coordinator at your site know that extra guests are welcome to join the reception for dancing after dinner.

Every wedding has a few surprises, and there is no way to plan for all of them. Once you are confident that you have contingency plans in place for the big issues, allow yourself to relax about the rest of it. As the old saying goes, “Don’t sweat the small stuff”!

Throughout the ages the wedding day has been the most special day for most of the people. On this vary day it is believed that the souls of two individuals becomes one. And as the symbol of this union the custom of exchange of rings between the bride and the groom is followed. The custom of exchange of rings both for marriage and betrothal seems to be quite old a tradition. This tradition has come through ages and is still in its height of popularity.

In the customs of most of the countries the wedding ring is worn on the left hand ring finger. It is believed that there is a vein that generates from this finger and goes straight to the heart. Thus the belief is that there is a direct connection of the heart to that finger. Though in actual reality there is no such vein in that finger according to the medical study. Therefore there is no binding that one should wear the wedding ring on that finger only. As in many countries the tradition already exists of wearing the wedding ring on the ring finger of the right had. Thus the finger on which you wear the wedding ring does not matter so much.

According to the tradition of Britain it is the duty of the best man to keep track of the wedding rings of the bride and the groom and they are the one who present the ring at the symbolic moment of the exchange of the wedding rings. Sometimes in case of elaborate weddings it is the custom that a young boy from the family of the bride or groom may assist the bride or the groom as the ring bearer. Thus it is seen that the tradition in relation to the exchange of the wedding rings differs in different cultures and customs. But the fact is that the custom of exchange of rings remains almost the same in almost every customs.

In case of the style and the material of the wedding rings there are also the differences n different traditions. However, in the most common cases it is the gold that is the most preferred material for the wedding rings. It is often seen that women generally wear narrow bands while men have broader bands. As for the style of the wedding rings in France and French speaking countries there is common patter of the ring of three interwoven rings are considered as the wedding ring. These three rings stands for the Christian virtues of faith, hope and love. As in Greek a kind of puzzle rings are offered to the bride as a test of the women. This is kind of set of interlocking metal bands which the women have to arrange in such an order so that they form a single ring. In some parts of Europe and North America a custom is followed by the women of wearing two rings on the same finger one of which is the engagement ring and the other the wedding band.

The engagement ring, engagement rings and wedding ring set you can get here with attractive price.

When you want to prove how much you love, the best thing you can think of is a ring. Even a small ring- irrespective of its value- is often cherished by the owner. A wedding ring goes beyond the material value of that piece of jewelry. There are emotions, memories, happiness and a great deal of sacrifice associated with that ring.

A wedding ring also has a lot of symbolic value. It is a sign of love- of life itself. It is an integral part of a marriage ceremony. Normally the bride and the groom spend a great deal of time in searching for the perfect wedding rich. After all, the ring must be kept with oneself until one’s death.

The wedding ring also signifies the sense of unity and togetherness that a marriage entails. It is a symbol of sharing each other’s life and experiences forever. The significance of the ring differs with age, custom and traditions. However, few things remain constant. The wedding ring speaks of the couple’s dedication and the desire to be together, come what may. Various ethnic groups have different rituals regarding marriage and the exchange of the ring. Interestingly, the customs also vary individually form family to family. Often these family traditions regarding the wedding ring are queer and awe-inspiring. The ring also brings back memories of a wonderful marriage and married life for the aged couple. It reminds them of a time when both were young.

The ring finger is the perfect place to flaunt your wedding ring. Infact, the finger derives its name from the habit of putting the wedding ring on that particular finger. In many countries of the west, it is worn on the right hand. However, in some European countries like Russia and Poland it is traditionally worn on the right hand. Whichever hand the ring may go; the finger is always the same. People believe that the ring finger is connected directly to the heart and therefore the gift of one’s love should be placed close to one’s heart.

According to the Christian tradition, the bride and the from exchange rings before marriage. Rings can also be exchanged while proposing for marriage or companionship. In many places in Europe, the wedding ring must have the name of the beloved inscribed on it. It symbolizes that the person is made for his/her partner only. Therefore, the ring stands for commitment too.

The best man’s most important role in a Christian marriage is to protect the ring for the wedding. It is considered inauspicious if he loses the ring. In some like-minded cultures, the ring is presented in Church on a white pillow. A young relative is entrusted with the responsibility of carrying this secret pillow. Due to their intrinsic value in a marriage/relationship such rings are made of precious metals like gold, silver, platinum, diamonds, sapphires and platinum. You can get them in any shape/size. They are often personalized to suit your purpose. They can be designed according to one’s wish or few individualize lines can be inscribed on them to make it truly memorable.

The newest tend in wedding ring is definitely futuristic titanium rings that are skin-neutral and prevents finger rashes. However, they are not readily available and need to be careful while buying them. There are online sites that prove sample designs and stresses on reliability and quality.
