Do you have to buy an engagement ring first? Can I get the matching wedding band first and then the engagement ring later when money isn’t a bit tight?

If most women stop wearing their engagement ring and just wear the wedding band anyway, what is the point of the engagement ring?

I’m a bit confused here, please help!! What am I suppose to do with my engagement ring on my wedding day? Should I take it out and give to the priest to bless it with my wedding band and my hubby put both rings on my finger or should I wear it on my married finger and have my hubby put the wedding band after it or should I wear it on a different finger and have my married finger free for the wedding band?

I’m recently engaged. I have a beautiful new ring. I don’t generally like the look of two rings, even if they are made to match. Can I just use my engagement ring as a wedding band?

I am looking for a ring that does not have the center stone already included as I would like to have aquamarine as the center stone. I would also like it to be a set with the wedding band with it. I heard that the traditional way to to wear the wedding band closer to the hand, and the engagement ring "on top" of it, so that the wedding band is closer to your heart. However, Ive also heard the reverse. I am married for over 20 years and finally got a solitaire diamond engagement ring that we couldn’t afford when we were younger. I do want to wear both. My engagement ring is nearly 100 years old and I’m having a hard time finding a wedding band that matches.
It is a thin band that dovetails toward a solitaire 1/2ct round diamond. There is a small engraved pattern on each side of the diamond surrounded by mill grain.
Hope you can visualize it from my description.

My fiance and I are getting married in Mexico. She doesn’t want the rings soldered before the wedding, as she wants to wear her engagement ring until the day of and then add the wedding band during the ceremony. Is there a way (some kind of clasp or something) to keep the rings together while we are on our honeymoon, before we get them soldered together?

My engagement ring is pretty fancy and wouldnt look good with a band next to it. How would I wear my engagement ring and wedding band together? Would they go on different fingers? I am not getting married until next year, but I am just curious. Also if anyone knows of where to get nice wedding bands for under 0 each please let me know
