What I am supposed to do with my engagement ring during the ceremony? Do I put it on the ring finger on my right hand, so my husband can put my wedding band on my left hand during the ceremony. How does this work?

You can wear the engagement ring on your right hand until after the ceremony and then put it on your left hand above the wedding ring, OR you can let the maid of honor hold on to it until after the ceremony when you put it back on your left hand above the wedding ring. The wedding ring remains closest to your heart. In theory you do not remove the wedding ring once your groom places it on your finger. In practice we often need to remove the ring, like when cleaning but when you put the rings back on the wedding ring goes on first so that it is closest to your heart and the engagement ring goes on top of it.

That’s what I did. I put it on my right hand and moved it back to the left after he put my wedding band on.

I would wear it on the ring finger of my right hand as well…I think most women do this, or pin it somewhere on their dress.
