My fiance and I are going to get our engagement photos taken tonight at Sears Portrait Studio. Any suggestions on good colors to wear? I thought maybe we could wear our turquoise shirts because they are both close to the same color, and black pants. Any thoughts? Anyone have any engagement photo examples?

My fiance and I wore purple and black with jeans. He wore a purple button up shirt and I wore a purple sleeveless shirt with a black cardigan over it. We wanted to coordinate, but not be too matchy, matchy.
The pictures turned out great!

I don’t think you should match! I think you should look like you always do. Dress comfortably but nice.
In photographs, matching colors don’t always work well. They can blend into each other, etc. Try similar outfits if you want, but no matching.

I have my engagment pics, but i would rather not send them to a stranger on the net lol, sorry.
But we had a white back ground where we sat on the floor and he was behind me sort of, and i wore a nice deep purple shirt and gray pants, and he wore a silver button up with black pants. It turned out really nice.
Turquoise is a pretty color, specially if you have the right skin tone, but keep in mind, you dont have to match, colors can just compliment each others like mine did,
I am sure whatever you pick will be great. if you go with the turquiose, be picky about the back ground color. It can be tricky to match with.
Good luck =D

http://picasaweb.google.com/amanda.palmer08/EngagementPictures?feat=directlink theres my photos: we had them taken at the fair.
we both wore white, but different designs on the shirt.
dont go so matchy with the same exact shirts (turquoise button up for example) just compliment the colors like turquoise and grey or turquoise and magenta.

Blue is a very good color. We went with jeans and my fiancee wore blue plaid button up and I with a cream colored top. You want a little pattern with some solid color that blends together. Sometimes, it can look a bit silly if you match up too much. If he had for example red plaid or patterened shirt and black pants you could wear a red top with black pants. The other way around works too with him wearing a solid color shirt and you with something pattered that picks up on the color in his shirt and then matching color pants. It can be boring with looking too much the same. Blue in the clothing with the brown in the back is nice. it depends on the color background you’re asking them to use as well. I can’t post my engagement photo because I think it might be putting myself at risk for identity theft or something negative. I try not to put personal details out there for everybody – sorry.

Don’t wear matching colours, that is the epitome of lame. Instead, wear complimentary colours. For example, he could wear a dark blue and you could wear a light blue, or if he was to wear green, you could wear pink.
If you both wear black pants your legs will disappear into the photo as one big black blob. Or, if one black is blacker, it will make the other black pair of pants look old and worn. I would recommend jeans, or for just one of you to wear black pants.

Well if want more casual look which i think is best just wear nice complimenting blue jeans. Like levis and wear complimenting colors not the same color of shirts. make sure your jewlery is simple and stay away from to crazy printed shirts, have some texture to your tops , dont be afraid to wear a nice cardigan with a shirt underneath for you and your fiance a nice simple button up.
