Some people dont even wear their engagement ring all the time. for a cheap band i would reccomend going to a jewelry show. My SIL did that because he ring was so fancy and she didn't really want a band so the day before the wedding she took off her engagement ring and gave it to my brother then the day of the wedding he gave it to her as her wedding ring and that's the only ring she wears. It would be a shame to not wear such a beautiful ring because the band doesn't match it but I don't think it would look right anywhere but on your left ring finger. You can do it however you want but you might just want to consider using it as both your engagement and wedding rings. Good luck!
