What is the best way to sell an engagement ring and wedding band?

The engagement ring was only worn for a few months and the wedding band has never been worn. I have posted them on Craig’s list and ebay with no luck. I really don’t want to pawn it because I get so little out of it. Any other suggestions on how to go about selling a bridal set?

get then melted down into a pendent or take the diamonds and make earrings out of them… or try the classifieds in the penny saver

depends on how fast you want to get rid of it. Pawn or ebay seem to be about the only outlets.

ask friends and family and find out if anyone is getting married…you might be able to sell it to them…ebay for me is hard to trust sometimes..but if i buy from someone i know or trust..i would definitely go for it…you might loose some money though

Hi, I am a retired jeweler and unfortunately jewelry is marked up at jewelry stores quite a bit. (So much More Than You Know.) You will never get what he/you paid.

I wouldn’t take it to a pawn shop though. They won’t even give you the worth of the gold. You need to find out if the diamond (s) are any good. If they are good that is what the experienced eye will be buying/looking for not the ring in a whole or the gold. If the diamonds are of a poor quality then you will be only selling the rings for the price of the gold. On average between $50.00-$100.00 for both. I am being generous with that price. I don’t know what the gold purity is, the karat, etc. If they are thinner gold bands expect less than I quoted.

Sorry if you think this is bad news, but it’s the truth. You are welcome to email me if you want and I can tell you more. I will try to help assist you if you’d like. Good Luck!
