Im from asia, and over here marriages are done differently but i have often seen in the movies that people propose with a ring. The ring that they offer while proposing, down on their knees, is it the engagement ring ?? And then again there is a wedding ring ???? And which one contains the diamond ???

Traditionally and Engagement ring is a band with a Solitaire diamond. It is given when the man asks the woman to marry him.
The wedding ring is a solid band that has no end and is give when the couple actually gets married.
The woman will usually wear both rings on the left hand ring finger everyday for the rest of her life.

yes the engagement ring is the one with the diamonds and the one you give you girlfriend when you propose and ask her to marry you, then when you get married you both get your wedding rings or bands this can be plain or have diamonds too. its personal choice

the engagement ring usually has the big stone but there are several variations of an engagement ring. this is the ring where the man proposes to his girlfriend with to ask he hand in marriage. the wedding ring or wedding band is the ring that is used when the man and women exchange vows. the wedding band is what is used to signify the promise to each other. both of these rings can have diamonds by the way. mine do.

The engagement ring is the ring which contains the diamond, this is the one that is used to ask the woman to marry you. The wedding ring is placed on the bride’s finger on the wedding day.

The engagement ring is given to the woman during the proposal. It does noramlly has a diamond. The weddng ring is given during the wedding ceremony to the man and woman. It sometimes contains diamonds also, but generally is just a solid gold ring.
The engagement ring is given as a symbol to be "engaged" to get married.
The wedding ring is a symbol of the actual marriage.
